No better feeling than helping an organization reach HIMSS Stage 7

Working with organizations to achieve their goals is what we’re all about at Hyland. We love supporting them through challenges and helping them become successful. But it’s rare when we get to see the exact moment when they reach important milestones. That’s why the recent HIMSS Stage 7 awards were so special.

During HIMSS18, more than 50 healthcare organizations were recognized for achieving Stage 7 – which reflects an environment in which paper medical charts are no longer used. Institutions must complete the eight stages (zero through seven) to reach this highest level of the HIMSS Analytics Electronic Medical Record Adoption Model (EMRAM).

Only around six percent of all hospitals have received Stage 7 certification, so you can see why I was proud to watch many of the organizations I have worked with over the past few years pick up their awards at the event.

Partners in your success

With expert staff trained on the HIMSS Analytics Maturity Models, Hyland was among the first of three companies to join the EMRAM program in 2015. As HIMSS Analytics-certified consultants, Hyland assists organizations as they achieve these different stages, working one-on-one with customers and non-customers alike to identify gaps and facilitate solutions.

One organization in particular made me realize the value of these educational partnerships. When The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health in Toronto was called to receive their award, their team insisted I accompany them on stage to share in the accomplishment. When I got over my own surprise to share their spotlight, it became clear that Hyland is bringing something needed to the table.

As a trusted partner providing guidance, expertise and mentorship throughout challenging transformations like the EMRAM stages, we love rolling up our sleeves to identify issues and find creative solutions. Best of all, we learn new things right alongside our customers. By solving operational and technical challenges together, we better position ourselves to develop products and services that meet those day-to-day needs while also preparing customers for the future.

Watching friends and colleagues achieve Stage 7 was an exhilarating experience, and I look forward to seeing who accomplishes this goal in 2018.
