OnBase users can speed business with Adobe Sign integration

E-signatures is a growing and necessary solution, and with the OnBase Integration for Adobe Sign, you can leverage them more efficiently.

Like about 10 percent of Americans, I moved in 2020 during the pandemic. After a few months of remote work, I realized that working from home was going to be my permanent status, and I figured I could:

  • Actually own a home,
  • live in a community with great public schools, and
  • still have all the great job opportunities the San Francisco Bay Area provided.

With the rapid expanse of remote work norms, I was no longer tied to living near my workplace. But since we were in the middle of a global pandemic, I knew moving would come with challenges.

Fortunately, my realtor was on top of the new house hunting guidelines during COVID-19. Those regulations included:

  • Signing a PEAD (Property Entry Advisory Declaration) form for each property we visited
  • Wearing masks, shoe booties and gloves when we stepped into each house
  • Allowing only one person (plus the realtor) to walk through the home at a time

Additionally, in each home, disinfectant wipes were provided so we could wipe down any surface we touched. As we drove through different neighborhoods, we would see homes for sale. However, we couldn’t just walk up and take a tour — the PEAD form was required before we could enter any house.

But, like everyone, I’m busy. I wanted to see available houses when they — and I — were available, not a day or two later. So, what could I do?

E-signatures is a growing and necessary solution

E-signature technology solved our problem; our ability to view homes would have slowed significantly without it.

We could sign the PEAD form right from our iPhone while sitting in the car — no rescheduling, no checking the calendar for tomorrow. My realtor could then share it in real time with the realtor representing that address, and within a few minutes, we could walk through the property. I can’t image how long that whole process would take if e-signature wasn’t available!

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that the electronic signature industry has grown exponentially because of the pandemic. In fact, according to Adobe, Adobe Sign experienced triple-digit year-over-year growth in users each month from June through September 2020. Many of these users were e-signature first-timers: 53 percent of Gen Z said they used an e-signature application for the first time in 2020, while 30 percent of Boomers stated the same. And this category will continue to see radical growth. In 2020, the U.S. e-signature market was valued at $1.2 billion and has an expected 26.6 percent Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) by 2030, according to a Prescient and Strategic Intelligence report.

The pandemic forced many organizations to embrace digital transformation quickly. This included capturing and sharing signatures for all types of documents among remote workers and customers, from anywhere. It also helped coin the term “contact free,” meaning people could safely sign forms from their personal devices without touching a foreign or shared object such as a pen or physical paper.

New for OnBase users: OnBase Integration for Adobe Sign

The market demand and trend lines for e-signatures make it timely that Hyland recently partnered with Adobe to integrate Adobe Sign into OnBase, Hyland’s enterprise information platform. OnBase users can now seamlessly and securely incorporate Adobe Sign e-signatures into their document management processes. This purpose-built integration makes OnBase an even more flexible, scalable and efficient content services platform for our customers.

What does the OnBase Integration for Adobe Sign do?

Users can leverage OnBase workflow to draft, revise and approve documents, and then OnBase submits those documents to the Adobe Sign cloud for e-signature. Once documents are signed, they automatically re-enter the workflow lifecycle, and your business process continues.

How does the OnBase Integration for Adobe Sign reduce risk and improve compliance?

The integration nsures compliance with e-sign laws and industry regulations, manages security with visibility controls and grants unique user permissions to view and audit the process throughout the entirety of the signing ceremony in a compliant manner. It also adheres to document retention and destruction rules.

Thanks to e-signature technology, I found a new home quickly in our desired neighborhood. I’m looking forward to meeting new friends and neighbors, and hopefully the end to the pandemic.
