6 best practices to make your technology integrations successful
Our inaugural OnBase for Guidewire User Group officially kicked off today and we were fortunate to be among great company. Representatives from Hyland, Guidewire and some of our mutual customers joined us at our headquarters in Cleveland to talk about best practices, technology roadmaps and the future of the OnBase and Guidewire Insurance Suite.
One session that was extremely beneficial was a presentation from one of our IT consultants, Kyle Blair, explaining 12 best practices insurers should keep in mind when integrating technologies. While a few were specific for the integration between OnBase and Guidewire, many stood out as best practices for any integration.
Here are my top 6:
- Invest in Agile
Empowers you with tools for project management and reducing project costs - Deploy out-of-the-box first
Lowers development costs for the project and minimizes upgrade challenges - Get training early
Shortens the path to transfer technical responsibilities from vendors to your organization and increases team efficiency during planning - “Shadow” your technology resources
Improves retention, reduces support costs and helps prepare for when the project is live by elevating the self-sufficiency of your team - Invest in change management
Reduces the impact of the change, shortens the learning curve and maximizes solution value and reach - Upgrade to the latest version of the software
Includes new features and functionality to ensure your organization stays ahead of the latest technology trends
Your business applications are at the heart of your operations. But there isn’t one solution that can do it all.
That’s why integrations are an important part of any organization’s technology strategy. By keeping these best practices in mind, your organization will see faster, easier integrations with other applications. And that means those applications will be able to share information, giving you greater visibility.
