The weekly recap: September 28 | Q4 and two-letter words

Lo and behold, Monday marks the beginning of Q4!

Are you ready? Are you keeping pace with innovation? Or are you initiating it?

My friends over at Scrabble are a great example. They figured out how to harness the power of the latest lexicon to grab headlines and generate fun, yet heated board-game discussions. That’s the creative side of innovation: Taking what’s already out there in the world and figuring out an easy way to make it work for you. Kind of like using a Hyland solution, but I digress.

Here’s what else happened this week.

The Hyland Blog

  • One of Hyland’s core values is treating our customers like partners. This attitude has been a key to our success since 1991. Now, we’re taking it to the next level with … our new Customer Experience Lounge!

The lounge is a space where our customers can recharge, relax, and connect with others between training sessions at our world headquarters in Westlake, Ohio. In the next stage, they’ll even be able to view solutions in action.

  • Are you looking to get into the tech field? Maybe the best way to find out is to apply for an internship.

Here at Hyland, we have an amazing internship program that puts you right in the middle of the action. You’re not making coffee runs. You aren’t running errands. And you’re certainly not busy all day making photocopies of paper documents. Nope, you’re right in the middle of it all – helping us help our customers work smarter and faster.

  • CommunityLIVE is over, but the learning and sharing are still accelerating.

To get two inside looks at what the conference was like for first-time attendees, check out how CommunityLIVE transformed one Hylander and three key takeaways from another.

Hyland news

  • Human resources professionals often consider the Form I-9 to be the most complicated two-page form in America, with an intricate array of rules, competing objectives, and unforgiving timelines. Coupled with a rise in worksite audits and increasing fines, the form often leaves employers with more questions than answers.

That’s why we created an ebook to provide human resources practitioners with a guide to making Form I-9 and mandatory E-Verify easier to understand.

My fav thing of the week: Ew

  • Ew. Why is my bestie so frowny?

This week, Scrabble added 300 words to its dictionary of acceptable expressions. If you love the game like my mom, my wife, and I do, you now have a ton of choices to drive your competitors mad, including the words in the sentence above. In addition to ‘ew,’ you can now stymie other players and loved ones by utilizing 106 two-letter words to cause a cessation of their strategies.

(Shout out to the Scrabble thesaurus.)

That’s it for this week. Have a great weekend!
