The weekly recap: November 2 | It’s magical

Do you believe in magic? I do.

But not the kind where someone prances around a stage making googly eyes at the audience.

Nope. The kind of magic I believe in is the Magic Quadrant kind. It sounds like some sort of mysterious chamber where people go to transform into unicorns, but it’s not. It’s much more important than unicorns. I checked.

The Hyland Blog

  • As I just mentioned, Gartner has released its 2018 Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms. And Hyland was named a ‘Leader.’ Now in its second year, the report is an evolution of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Enterprise Content Management, which had consecutively named Hyland as a ‘Leader’ for seven years.

“For Hyland, content services isn’t just a change in terminology. It’s about utilizing modern approaches to software architecture, development, deployment, and management to create an enterprise information platform of unparalleled power and flexibility,” said Brenda Kirk, executive vice president and chief product and strategy officer at Hyland.

  • As Hyland continues to build an increased market presence and global footprint, it has become clear we need to keep innovation in the forefront of our efforts. Therefore, we’re proud to introduce our inaugural Innovation Showdown.

Future innovation events may include opportunities for participation from a broader audience including partners, customers, and even the public. So if you have a great idea, start working on it!

  • Is your organisation based in Europe, the Middle East, or Africa? Is it looking to get the most out of its IT investments and create a competitive advantage through digital innovation?

Then next week is for you. The Hyland Summit | EMEA will be taking place 6 – 8 November in Frankfurt, Germany. Attendance is free, but there are only a few seats left. Register today!

  • To prepare for meetings, the board of directors at Texas Women’s University used to print documents and send email attachments. These tedious tasks took even more time if there were any changes.

Now, with ShareBase, the university easily – and securely – grants access to files of all types whenever it needs to do so, all while tracking who has accessed them and when.

  • From data capture to management to tech support, veterans are using their knowledge, skills, and training to help Hyland push the innovation envelope.

In this edition of the Veteran Hylite blog series, we check in with Joe Kocsis, formerly a Marine and currently a content services developer as well as the president of Hyland’s Veteran Employee Resource Group.

Hyland news

  • This week marked my 12-year anniversary working for Hyland, so I’m very excited to mention – one last time – that Hyland was named a ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s 2018 Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms.

My fav thing of the week

  • I’m not a huge fan of Halloween, but I have to tell you, the return of Michael Myers – who really, really, really freaks me out – to true form in the Halloween movie franchise is amazing. I was going to make my wife go see the new movie – she tends to hide for about half of scary movies, digging her nails into my arm – but she never saw the original.

So, we watched the original. And guess what? She started doing her nails!

Meanwhile, I’m still freaked out. So much so, that I’m not going to see the new movie right now. You can go with her if you want to. Not me.

Have a magical weekend everyone!
