The weekly recap: June 29

Hi friends! It’s good news/bad news time. But don’t worry, there’s more good news than bad news.

So, let’s start with the bad news: We will not be publishing the weekly recap next week.

I know, I know … Leave a comment below if you need to talk through it.

Now the good news: OnBase 18 is here!

After more than 10,000 updates and 3,100 customer-driven enhancements, the latest version of OnBase is ready to power your organization’s digital transformation. Every step of the way, OnBase 18 is right there with you, helping you make more-informed decisions, driving processes, and empowering you to deliver superior service to your customers.

Also good news, if you’re in the U.S., the Fourth of July holiday is coming quickly. That means hot dogs, apple pie, and – if you haven’t escaped to the mountains like I have – fireworks.

What else was going on this week? Glad you asked.

The Hyland Blog

  • As we close out Pride month, Jenni Valentino provides some interesting history on how and why Pride marches began. She describes how those early parades, gatherings, and protests weren’t the cheerful, colorful, proud events they’ve become today. They were somber, urgent calls for real change, equality, and justice.

She also interviews members of our newly formed Lenexa, Kansas, Hyland Pride Alliance group, who share great insight on their journeys toward their own personal pride.

Laura Pietromica, a member of our vaunted healthcare team, gives some great advice about establishing downtime procedures and practicing them – early and often.

  • Our Veteran Hylite series returns! This time Courtney Byham chats with Mike Crisp, a former Army Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot. Mike gives great tech career advice, noting how the tech world tends to focus on your potential, not your diplomas.

“My military training gave me the skills to navigate a technical career path where I could prove myself over and over again by working hard and earning my position,” said Mike.

Hyland news

Key improvements include tailored user experiences, elevated mobile functionality, security upgrades, and enhanced integrations with core business applications.

Hyland experts will offer CUES members technology best practices and insights to streamline processes, digitize data, and optimize business practices across their enterprises.

  • Hyland Healthcare continues to innovate and grow, expanding its presence in the European, Middle East, and African marketplaces.

“The combination of customer expansion and new leadership is creating exciting momentum in EMEA,” said Susan deCathelineau, Vice President of Global Healthcare Sales and Services.

  • Not to brag, but not only is Hyland a leader in terms of our technology, other organizations also look to us as leaders in corporate culture. We treat each other like family, work hard, and have a lot of fun.

But it all starts with cultivating a respectful and supportive workplace culture. That’s why Bill Priemer, our President and CEO, recently signed the CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion Pledge.

My favorite thing of the week

  • As I mentioned earlier, for most of us, the Fourth of July conjures up images of hot dogs floating through a sky filled with rainbows and unicorns. Which begs the obvious question, how many hot dogs can you eat? Do you think you can eat 72 hot dogs in 10 minutes?

More importantly, would you ever try? Not me. I mean, look at these guys. And after a year of training to increase their DPM and delivery systems, they’ll be back at it again on the Fourth.

As my coworker Elise said, it’s truly what our country’s founders envisioned. Truly.

Have a hot dog of a weekend everyone!
