The weekly recap: December 14 | A ton of chocolate

As the holidays appear on the horizon, our thoughts drift to shaking carefully chosen presents to see what’s in them, pretending no one is home when carolers stop by, and chocolate flowing through the streets.

Mmm … chocolate-covered streets.

First, the news.

Hyland news

  • This week, the Workflow Management Coalition (WfMC) selected Discovery Benefits as winner of the 2018 Award for Excellence in Business Transformation. The prestigious award recognizes Discovery’s innovative case management solution, built on the OnBase enterprise information platform.

We’re proud to announce this is the fifth-consecutive year WfMC has recognized a Hyland customer for case management solutions!

  • Twenty-four percent … that’s the number of women in STEM in the U.S.

“We’re behind. Way behind,” said Brenda Kirk, Hyland’s executive vice president and chief product and strategy officer. “And for our girls, we’re abysmally behind. These are barriers worth knocking down, and together we can.”

Can you imagine a world where girls have awesome role models in science, technology, engineering, and math? Author Lindsay Latessa, human resources manager at Hyland, can.

  • Goes together like ice cream and software training.

You don’t hear that very often, but if you’re a Perceptive portfolio product user, this great quiz – created by Hylander Amanda Lang, a go-getter graphic designer – will help you figure out which flavor of training will please your palate.

My fav thing of the week: A ton of chocolate, literally

Based on my ability to eat my weight in chocolate, if I had been in Germany on Monday night, I would have, as my grandma used to say, “high-tailed it” to Westonnen. With a giant spoon. And some takeaway trays.

You know, to help the fire department get rid of a choco road hazard.

That’s it. If you’re out of the office next week, don’t forget to check back for our final weekly recap of 2018!

Have a great weekend!
