The virtual Hy-5 is back — Saturday, May 15! Get out there in the sunshine and have some fun for a good cause.

Ah, mid-May. Here in the Cleveland area, that means perfect running weather.

… Usually.

So, I’m happy to announce the Hy-5 is back — virtually — on Saturday, May 15.

This is our thirteenth annual event benefitting Cleveland’s MetroHealth System. For every runner or walker, Hyland will make a donation to directly support the healthcare organization’s vital role in our region.

Shared core values: Family

For many of the past races, we have heard from patients whose lives have been changed because of the incredible care they received, connecting us on a deeper level to the reasons why we run or walk, and the reasons why we support MetroHealth.

It’s actually a perfect fit, as our organizations share core values.

Our goal has always been to treat patients like family, with the respect and dignity they deserve.

– Akram Boutrous, MD, FACHE, president and CEO of MetroHealth

The deets

Everyone is welcome to join the fun on May 15, at any time throughout the day. Feel free to run the “official” 5k or walk one mile.

Or, if you’re motivated, keep going! It’s the perfect excuse to finish with ice cream. … So I’ve heard.

To take part in the virtual event, if you have one, just put on a Hy-5 t-shirt from a previous race and get out there. And don’t forget to share your sunshine-filled “race” photos on social media using the #HylandLife hashtag!
