From pioneer to trendsetter, the OnBase Cloud continues to lead the way

KMWorld recently selected the OnBase Cloud as one of its KMWorld Trend-Setting Products of 2014. This accolade highlights the continued market acceptance of enterprise content management (ECM) in the cloud and the prominent role the OnBase Cloud plays in the marketplace.

This trust is hard-earned and is something Hyland doesn’t take for granted. It forms the basis for all Hyland does, and played a key part in the KMWorld decision.

“The OnBase Cloud was selected because it demonstrates thoughtful, well-reasoned innovation and execution for the most important constituency of them all: the customer,” says Hugh McKellar of KMWorld.

Before we go any further, let me tell you I hate using this blog as a platform to focus on anything overly sales related. However, there are times to shout product-related good news from the rooftops – and this is one.

We delivered OnBase via the Internet more than 11 years ago as what was then called a “hosted solution.” That first foray into what would become “the cloud” was a pioneering moment. OnBase, you see, was the first mainstream ECM solution provided online. Today, OnBase continues to innovate in all areas – mobile, advanced capture, workflow and more – and the OnBase Cloud offers all of these innovations via a cloud model.

Traditionally, organizations are wary of placing ECM content in the cloud, but that is changing. The OnBase Cloud now stores more than one billion customer documents, and that number grows daily. So does the spread of customers, with organizations from Arizona to Australia, Brazil to Brussels trusting their content and processes to Hyland.

This tremendous accolade bodes well for ECM in the Cloud, as organizations finally move past largely unfounded fears over cloud security and begin to grasp the true benefits of ECM in the cloud: Full ECM functionality combined with the flexible delivery and payment models. It’s a trend that’s only going to grow in popularity.
