Celebrating New Year reunions and preparing for success
Chinese New Year is China’s most important traditional festival. It is a time to celebrate a year of hard work and to wish for a prosperous new year. The Chinese New Year is a time for families to be together and to enjoy what is considered the most important meal of the year, the reunion dinner.
I had the opportunity to participate in the New Year’s celebration during my recent visit to Singapore. This visit included our Quarterly Partner Review (QPR) meeting with members of the SingHealth leadership team. This was a time for us to share progress on key strategies and provide feedback on how we may continue to improve our partnership.
After our meeting, we enjoyed celebrating the New Year with traditional dishes, starting with Yu Sheng. Everyone at the table stands up and proceeds to toss the shredded ingredients into the air with chopsticks while sharing good wishes. It is believed that the height of the toss reflects the height of good fortunes!
Success begins with planning
In reflecting on this visit, I couldn’t help but appreciate the timing of our meeting with the celebration of the Chinese New Year. SingHealth has collaborated with Hyland over several years to implement an enterprise information strategy that supports departments across the organization. We were reuniting to reflect on the hard work over the previous year and to plan for future success together in the New Year.
This is really the key to a customer partnership. We take time to understand our mutual goals, reflect on our joint efforts, and celebrate our accomplishments. Many of our customers, such as SingHealth, continue to look at new ways to advance patient engagement, improve physician user experience and extend services across their communities.
We at Hyland are honored to have the opportunity to be their tier-one technology partner in pursuing these initiatives.
Off to a great start in 2017, together
In Chinese culture, people believe that a good start to the year will lead to a successful year. I believe we are off to a great start in 2017 and are prepared to serve our customers as they continue to meet the challenges of an evolving healthcare environment. We are committed to being the best in the solutions and services that we provide and in taking a proactive approach in helping our customers reach their goals – achieving HIMSS Stage 7, for example.
Just like people coming together to celebrate the Chinese New Year, the upcoming #HIMSS17 conference in February is an opportunity for healthcare professionals from around the world to meet. The Hyland tradition of welcoming all to join our OnBase Sports Bar continues. And, to ensure this year gets off to a great start, we’ve added a Federal Healthcare Pavilion, where we’ll be discussing how federal agencies can modernize their healthcare systems to better serve constituents.
We look forward to seeing you for a Hyland reunion at booth #1379!
