Everywhere content management (ECM): #Govies take over #CommunityLIVE

It’s that time again. And if you are near the Venetian in Las Vegas, you can already feel the collective energy surging from OnBase by Hyland’s premier event, CommunityLIVE.

From where I sit, the most important piece is the amazing atmosphere of innovation and brilliance that starts with the people who use OnBase.

It’s ECM, or Everywhere Content Management, and it is changing the lives of our end users.

As a member of the government team, I have seen more than my share of these events, but this year is something special. Our first-ever Government Innovation Awards feature three finalists in a tightly contested bid to win bragging rights to the best case management solution built in the rapidly deployable OnBase platform.

Along the way, the finalist solutions have improved government at the city, county and state level, extended their solutions and built amazing ROI numbers.

Using Case Management and Agenda and Minutes to better serve constituents
Case management is leading the charge this year in innovative solutions for government, but we’re also featuring solutions like Agenda and Minutes because it is an essential piece of the new world of government transparency. Customers are talking about their agenda solutions because they love the fact that they can do so much to make their constituents happy while relieving the challenges of paper-based processes that can engulf clerk’s offices as they prepare for every meeting.

And, as you listen to our customers talking, that’s what they love: One powerful platform with so many benefits.

Driving change with a ‘hub of government’
There are several trending topics that show the new philosophy of government IT, especially integrations and mobile options. Our government end users are talking about using OnBase to fill the gaps between solutions, using it as that hub of government that also allows them a more rapid deployment schedule.

“Use the product,” they are saying. “Use all the tools that OnBase offers and you can plow through an amazing number of projects in a year.”

That’s another trending topic! How once one department hears about a great OnBase project, everyone wants it too, and that’s a great problem to have! Because it’s all about tying systems together and making things simpler.

Support for government field work is leading the drive for mobility, but it is more than that. The longer we have a smartphone in our personal lives, the more essential it becomes in our work. The great part about the OnBase platform is the ability to have your information anywhere, on any device and, increasingly, this is a key next project for OnBase government users.

They need mobile access to keep up with the workload and to serve the new constituent who has grown up with smartphones.

Networking with your fellow #govies
All this adds up to a power surge for #govies at CommunityLIVE. Networking and project idea sharing have always been the greatest reasons to attend CommunityLIVE, and the Government VOGUE is leading a session of project sharing this year as a way to take advantage of this once-a-year, face-to-face meeting. Attendees are going home with pockets full of business cards and reminders in their smartphones to use the collective wisdom of their fellow end users long after they have left the lights of the Vegas Strip behind.

This all adds up to the kind of event that no OnBase end user should miss. Your peers, the latest trends, a little competitive spirit. And the dedicated Hylanders who lose sleep because the power of happy end users keeps them awake thinking of the next great project or enhancement.

I already can’t wait until next year. Mark your calendars for #CommunityLIVE 2016 now!
