Light up the Hyland Community with your great ideas!

There’s something so important about belonging to a community – a sense of emotional connection, shared interests and support that extends beyond geography. This sense of community is what made Cultivate Yoga stand out to me from every other studio in town, and it’s what has kept us connected amidst the current situation.

Zoom yoga, anyone?

At Hyland, our community extends well beyond the four walls of our physical buildings, reaching employees, partners and customers across the globe.

One of my favorite examples of this is our Ideas platform, which is part of Hyland Community, our online space where customers, partners and employees share points of view, ask questions and network. Ideas takes this partnership to the next level by allowing customers to submit ideas for product improvements and solution suggestions.

Crowdsourcing at its finest!

Ideas was born from a collaboration between the product management and Hyland Community teams in response to customer and partner requests as well as a need for our product owners and product managers to gain user feedback. Both customers and partners gain a direct line of communication with the Hyland product management team and receive a long-time ask of Hyland Community: visibility into ALL product enhancement requests, including visibility into those requested by other members.

We designed Ideas to facilitate innovation around Hyland products and solutions, including Foundation. Think of it as the connection point to our product management team, and an opportunity for you to influence our development roadmap. Members can suggest product enhancements, share a concept for something new and vote in favor of ideas they support.

Since its beta release in July 2019, there have been more than 1,000 product enhancements posted to Ideas – many of which have made their way into released versions of our software, in particular, our new Foundation product versions. A great example of this is our most recent software release, OnBase Foundation EP3.

In this release, we saw enhancement ideas influenced directly from customers in areas of web, workflow, retention and more.

Find out what’s new

As a Community member, I’ve enjoyed seeing customers and partners generate ideas and then watching as they gain traction. And I’ll admit, I’ve had my favorites that I was secretly rooting for behind the scenes in anticipation of the release of OnBase Foundation EP3.

(Hint: I love the way we’re now placing notes on PDFs in the web client!)

As a product evangelist, it’s been satisfying to be able to share the great news about the software updates that came directly from the Ideas platform. It lets our customers know that we are listening – which is really what “community” is all about – being there and supporting each other, influencing change and making the lives of our members better.

Are you interested in hearing what customer and partner ideas were brought to life in our latest product release? Join our upcoming webinar, What’s new in OnBase Foundation EP3, as I and the rest of the product evangelist team dive deep into new features and functionality.

While we won’t be doing any yoga, you will get to hear first-hand how we’re responding to the needs of our customers, idea by idea. See you there!
