We excel with a little help from our friends Sharing knowledge, inspiration and encouragement at CommunityLIVE

Gold-medalist Michael Phelps talks performance and perseverance with Mike Tirico.

We are not machines. Sometimes, we need to remind ourselves, after long days spent interacting in a strictly virtual environment.

Sure, CommunityLIVE is a digital transformation conference, filled with conversations about tech innovations and new product functionality. But, at the end of the day, the transformative piece comes from people who are striving to exceed their potential. The tech can certainly help us, but it’s up to us to bring our goals to life.

We need to be inspired, and we want to be encouraged, coached and informed. That’s why CommunityLIVE is so much more than a user conference. We hope you soak up all the valuable content the conference has to offer and walk away from your computer screen ready to be and do your best — with a little help from our friends.

Man or machine?

When watching Michael Phelps dominate the sports world, it was easy to believe he had some superhuman abilities. But, the record-breaking gold medalist will be the first to tell you how human he really is.

As this year’s keynote speaker, Phelps will talk with NBC sportscaster Mike Tirico about focus, determination and mental strength, as well as the importance of getting help when you need it. Phelps’s story doesn’t end with 23 gold medals. Through his advocacy for mental health awareness and action, he is shining a light on our collective need for support — whether we’re elite athletes, kids struggling in school or adults in the workplace.

“It’s ok to not be ok,” Phelps reminds us. “It’s ok to go through ups and downs. That’s life. We’re human beings. We’re not perfect.”

Hear their conversation on Friday, October 15, for a glimpse into what he’s learned about teamwork, parenting and learning to ignore the naysayers.

That human touch

If you don’t know Bronwyn Saglimbeni, you need to tune in to Thursday’s general session — you’ll thank us later.

For 20 years, she’s been a communication coach, speaker, writer and podcast host who has helped rising celebrities, industry leaders and executives in Fortune 100 companies realize their full potential as communicators. And, she’s been helping Hyland employees around the world for months through interactive virtual meetings that touch on everything from effective storytelling to establishing a morning routine. We’re not sure we could have made it through 2021 without her.

In her talk, Mindset: How to Bring Forward Your Best Self, she will talk about five “junk thought patterns” that hold people back in their professional — and personal — interactions. It’s not about perfection, it’s about connection. Saglimbeni’s tips are actionable, achievable and inspiring. Your Zoom meetings will never be the same again.

The universal language

What’s better than relaxing to some tunes at the end of a busy week? We’re excited to host Sheryl Crow as our musical act this year. The nine-time GRAMMY AWARD winner will be joining us from her Nashville studio, playing the hits from her nearly 30 years of iconic rock stardom.

We hope you’ll join the Hyland community for all this annual event has to offer. Just like you’re more than a tech user, CommunityLIVE is more than a tech conference.
