Conquer upgrades at #CommunityLIVE

Veni, vidi, vici.

This phrase, Latin for, “I came, I saw, I conquered” is usually attributed to Julius Caesar to describe a quick, decisive victory. It captures the essence of an empowering experience with alluring alliteration.

It’s often tempting to leave industry conferences with that feeling of “Veni, vidi, vici.” The mingled experience of learning, networking, and pondering new possibilities reignites our enthusiasm and drives us to think of new solutions for old business problems.

A great conference like CommuntiyLIVE inspires; the creative spark you feel combined with your newfound knowledge of how to improve your solution makes the whole trip feel like an accomplishment. Like you’ve already conquered …

But it’s what you do after the conference that creates positive outcome and determines its true ROI.

Perhaps a more fitting goal after attending CommunityLIVE is to walk away from The Venetian saying “Veni, vidi, vinces,” or “I came, I saw, I will conquer.”

Have a goal, form a plan

If you’re coming to CommunityLIVE, you will have access to more than 350 classes, many of which talk about OnBase 17 and all its new features and enhancements. It’s easy to arrive at the conference center and focus on trying to learn everything there is to know about what’s in the latest version of OnBase.

But don’t forget – unless you are already on OnBase 17, you cannot take advantage of the enhancements until you upgrade!

The good news is that upgrading does not have to be a major hurdle nor a barrier for entry. OnBase offers upgrade paths for any solution, and OnBase admins are able to customize their projects to fit their organizations’ unique needs. If you don’t have the staff or the desire to implement the upgrade yourself, we can help with that, too.

Many people I talked to at last year’s CommunityLIVE had either not upgraded OnBase before and were not aware of the options available to them, or had upgraded in the past, but it was so long ago that they did not know where to start.

To that end, we have put together a few classes and experiences that focus on upgrade education and improving your upgrade projects. No schedule is truly complete without taking advantage of at least one of these avenues of learning about upgrades.

Moving on up: Resources, tools and best practices for OnBase upgrades

Sunday & Monday: 1:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Join our upgrade experts as they share best practices and empower you with the resources and tools that OnBase professionals in Hyland’s Global Services, Tech Support, and QA departments have developed over the years. These informative sessions will help ensure a smooth and successful upgrade process.

Participate in hands-on activities, discuss planning and testing strategies, compare and contrast a traditional upgrade to an incremental parallel upgrade, and get answers to your real-world questions from Hyland’s upgrade experts.

Upgrading OnBase: Lessons learned and best practices

Tuesday, 1:15 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Do you feel challenged or even intimidated by the prospect of upgrading OnBase? You shouldn’t.

Come to this session and hear from experts who’ve helped guide many people through a successful upgrade. You’ll come away with some lessons learned and best practices to help your next OnBase upgrade go as smoothly as possible.

This course will have a high-level view of planning, preparing, and executing an OnBase upgrade.

If your class schedule is so full that you cannot attend any full-length course, we still have you covered.

We’ll have upgrade experts stationed at CommunityCentral during all open hours on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for any questions you might have. Our experts at the stations are prepared to answer any question you might have! This can be as short as a quick question, or as long as an in-depth discussion.

We also have post-conference opportunities for you to stay connected with the people and resources you’ll find at CommunityLIVE.
