Why #CommunityLIVE 2017 was the best ever

In September, I attended Hyland’s annual #CommunityLIVE conference for the eleventh time. I look forward to this event every year. I get a lot out of hearing success stories from end users, learning about new product updates, and connecting with the global community of resellers and partners.

This year’s event was better than ever. I think visitor numbers were at all all-time high, with some 2,000 customers and partners in attendance. Undoubtedly, the atmosphere across all four days was incredible and, of course, so was the venue – the fabulous Venetian in Vegas!

With an action-packed agenda that included keynote addresses, self-paced lab hours, business sessions and even early morning CommunityFIT – yoga and fitness boot camp – there really was something for everyone.

The exhibition hall was packed every day. Visitors took the opportunity to engage with all of the suppliers who attended, to talk through new products, promotions and special offers as well as network with their peers.

Everywhere you looked, there were solutions to business problems

For me, one of the highlights was the phenomenal updates to ShareBase by Hyland. This affordable cloud solution is opening up the Hyland experience to more small-to-mid-sized businesses than ever before, and in turn, spurring their interest in innovative imaging solutions.

It was also a very productive event for partners like us, the Kodak Alaris Information Management team. We provided dozens of demos of our new Alaris S2000 Series Scanners and the feedback was overwhelmingly positive.

It was a great opportunity to engage with organizations across all sectors and talk about key pain points. We discussed everything from the requirement for hospitals and healthcare networks to onboard patients quickly and the pressing need to ensure crisp, quality images when scanning documents like ID cards or insurance cards.

We also talked about the problems associated with scanning mixed batches. In particular, this is a common issue within the insurance sector, where individual customer information such as policy applications, photos, checks and identification cards all need to be scanned together.

The opportunity to talk face to face with customers and prospects, to demonstrate how our solutions can resolve these pain points and more importantly, to bring that information back into the business to shape future new product development is invaluable.

See you next September

It will be hard to top #CommunityLIVE 2017, but the team and I are looking forward to supporting Hyland’s efforts to deliver another blockbuster event! In the meantime, we’ll be focused on helping customers accelerate their digital transformation initiatives so they are better positioned to capture new growth opportunities.
