Hyland named a ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s 2018 Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms

It’s been nearly two years since Gartner retired the term enterprise content management (ECM) in favor of the moniker “content services.”

This shift isn’t just a change in terminology. It’s a complete methodology shift that Hyland has fully embraced. In fact, it inspired us to evolve how we develop, test, deliver, deploy and manage the proven capabilities our customers have built their solutions upon since 1991.

That’s why, as Hyland continues its content services evolution, we’re delighted to be named a ‘Leader’ in Gartner’s 2018 Magic Quadrant for Content Services Platforms.

The evolution of an industry

As a concept, content services is a set of services and microservices delivered via a modern architecture that brings interoperability between systems, orchestration and scalability to achieve the right-sized costs of operation – with interoperability being key to the entire concept.

The end goal is to remove the cost and technology barriers of adoption by enabling organizations to utilize services on an as-needed basis. For example, enabling hybrid environments where customers can consume some services in an on-premises deployment, and scale up and down easily from a capacity and functionality point of view.

Essentially, content services is more about the usage of content rather than the management of it.

Leadership: Today and tomorrow

This leadership status is truly something remarkable – not only because it signifies Hyland’s strong ability to execute on our product vision, but it’s the first year Gartner evaluated our combined product portfolio.

Based on what our customers are asking for, our commitment to our expanded portfolio of products continues to grow. We’re continuing to develop our technology to make it quickly and readily available; building lightweight, responsive applications and intuitive user interfaces; and empowering organizations of all sizes by partnering with them on their journeys toward digital transformation.
