Hyland recognized for 5th year in a row as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For.

Hyland has been recognized for the fifth year in a row as one of the Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For. Since a big part of our standing on this list is based on surveys from U.S. Hyland employees, this is an especially meaningful honor for us. We are thankful for the creative, passionate people who help us improve and grow as a company without losing sight of the heart that makes Hyland what it is.

It’s as good a time as any for us to reflect on where we are and – as always – where we’re going. How do we continue a unified culture with 30 offices around the globe? How can we better encourage diversity of thought throughout an employee base that’s more than 3,000 strong while still making sure we’re all headed in the same direction?

Getting bigger, getting better

These are the challenges we address every day – and as Manager of the Employee Engagement team, I can honestly say that we have a lot of fun in our efforts. We’ve learned how important it is to make sure employees have visibility into the company’s overall goals and vision. But, more importantly, providing ways for employees to tell us how we’re doing helps ensure we don’t lose sight of what it takes to engage the people who help make Hyland successful. We are always looking for new and better ways to prioritize transparency and make sure the lines of communication are always open.

It helps us to feel connected – even when we are growing by leaps and bounds.

Speaking of growth, it’s been quite a busy time for us. We welcomed new colleagues as we made our biggest acquisition yet in 2017, we’re adding a new wing at our headquarters that will include expanded employee training space and a customer experience center, and we’re even expanding our on-site Montessori preschool.

When it comes to working here at Hyland, being adaptive to change is definitely a quality we value.

That’s not to say we’re all alike – not by a longshot. Where’s the fun in that? We recognize just how valuable authentic employee perspectives are – in problem-solving, innovating and leading us to new and exciting places.

Anyone who has built a workplace from the ground-up knows that a culture of inclusion doesn’t happen by accident. We are happy to put in the effort to make sure Hyland is a great place to work – for everyone here. Part of our efforts include our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), where anyone of any background or orientation can share experiences, learn and grow professionally. So far, our employee-led ERGs include Women in Networking, Veterans, Exploring Cultures, Parent Peer Group and a soon-to-come Pride Alliance.

When people feel comfortable bringing their true selves to work, they also feel comfortable bringing their best ideas and lessons learned from unique experiences.

So you can see why being a great place to work is so important to us and, like everything else we do, we work hard at it. We look forward to where this extraordinary group of Hylanders will take us.
